All our activities are back to normal now. We are having face to face meetings and demonstrations again. It’s good to get back to normal again after all the problems of Covid.
Maria Russell – local artist Pastel demo
Our next demonstration will be on 18/11/22 at All Saints’ Church Hall in Bark Hart Road. Full address is given on our Home page.
It will be given by Maria Russell who is a local artist who specialises in pet and wild animal portraits. Her demonstration, however, will be a floral subject in pastels. An example of her work is shown below. It promises to be an interesting evening.
Maria is a professional artist, graduating from Ravensbourne College of Art, in 1984. Working as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator for many years, she then returned to her love of Fine Art, teaching and creating from her studio in Kent. She is inspired by nature, and animals have always featured heavily in her work. Other than her commission work, she enjoys creating a narrative so would describe herself as a visual storyteller and this allows for a more expressionistic approach to her work.
Whilst painting her recent ‘Raven’ series, she rediscovered by love of skies and seascapes, so is adding more of this to her current work.
